Administrative Burden Baseline − 2018

In its Red Tape Reduction Action Plan, the Government committed to build on the efforts of the Paperwork Burden Reduction Initiative by requiring departments and agencies, through the Administrative Burden Baseline, to provide a count of the requirements in federal regulations that impose an administrative burden on business.

All federal regulations administered by the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) that have requirements imposing administrative burden on business are identified below. Between 2014 and 2017, the CTA's annual administrative burden count was 545. During the period considered for this exercise – July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018 – the CTA's total administrative burden count did not change, as CTA did not make any regulatory changes affecting the administrative burden on business.
