Notice to Industry: Standard Point Location Codes

The Canadian Transportation Agency (the Agency) has been the official source of providing and maintaining Standard Point Location Codes (SPLCs) for shipping rail points in Canada for several years. The SPLCs continue to be very useful for Canadian railways and shippers.

Since this function is not part of the Agency's legislative mandate and to improve this classification process in Canada, the Agency, jointly with the Railway Association of Canada (RAC), is happy to announce that, starting April 15^th, 2024, RAC will be taking over as the official source for the administration of the SPLCs in Canada.

As of April 15^th, 2024, please send any request related to SPLC matters to RAC at SPLC@railcan.ca.
