APPLICATION by Air Canada for an extension of the authority granted by Licence No. 010118.

Air Canada has applied to the Canadian Transportation Agency (hereinafter the Agency) for the authority set out in the title. The application was received on February 18, 2002.
Under Licence No. 010118, Air Canada is authorized to operate a scheduled international service in a manner consistent with the Agreed Minute between Canada and Israel signed on September 28, 2001.
Condition No. 3 of Licence No. 010118 states:
This licence, unless cancelled at an earlier date, shall be in effect until March 30, 2002.
By the Agreed Minute of February 19, 2002, Canada and Israel agreed on arrangements for the IATA 2002 summer season.
The Agency has reviewed and considered the application and material in support thereof and is satisfied that Air Canada meets the requirements of subsection 69(1) of the Canada Transportation Act, S.C., 1996, c. 10 (hereinafter the CTA).
Accordingly, pursuant to subsection 78(1) of the CTA, the Agency will issue a new document of licence authorizing the Licensee to operate a scheduled international service, subject to the following conditions:
- The Licensee is authorized to operate a scheduled international service in a manner consistent with the Agreed Minute between Canada and Israel signed on February 19, 2002.
- The operation of the scheduled international service authorized herein shall be conducted subject to the provisions of any applicable arrangements as may be agreed to between Canada and Israel.
- This licence, unless cancelled at an earlier date, shall be in effect until October 26, 2002.
Any request for extension of this authority shall be submitted to the Agency for approval by no later than September 28, 2002.
