APPLICATION

Petro-Nav Inc. applied for a licence to use the “CHEMICAL AQUARIUS”, a tanker registered in Hong Kong, to transport  approximately 10,000 cubic metres of clean petroleum products, in multiple voyages, from Lévis, Quebec to Oakville, Ontario and/or Sarnia, Ontario, and from Montréal, Quebec to Oakville and/or Sarnia, commencing on June 11 and ending on June 30, 2015.

Is there a suitable Canadian ship available to perform the activity?

FACTS AND DETERMINATION

Canadian Transportation Agency (Agency) staff gave notice of the application to the Canadian marine industry and no Canadian ships were offered. Therefore, the Agency determines that there is no suitable Canadian ship available to perform the activity.

The Agency is providing this determination to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness to consider whether to issue the licence. This Decision is not an authority to operate.
