Order No. 2012-A-421
Licence is cancelled effective Januray 25, 2013
SUSPENSION of Spanair, S.A.’s Licence Nos. 020046 and 977309.
Spanair, S.A. (Licensee) is licensed to operate a non‑scheduled international service to transport traffic on a charter basis between Spain and Canada.
The Licensee is also licensed to operate scheduled international services in accordance with the Agreement on Air Transport between Canada and the European Community and its Member States, signed on December 18, 2009.
The Canadian Transportation Agency (Agency) finds that the Licensee does not have the prescribed liability insurance coverage.
Pursuant to subsection 72(1) and paragraph 75(1)(b) of the Canada Transportation Act, S.C., 1996, c. 10, as amended, the Agency must suspend the licences.
Accordingly, the Agency suspends the licences and provides the Licensee with 30 days to show cause why the licences should not be cancelled.
