APPLICATION

Petro-Nav Inc. applied for a licence to use the “SLOMAN HERAKLES”, a tanker registered in Antigua and Barbuda, to transport approximately 10,000 to 14,000 cubic metres of petroleum products, in multiple voyages, from Québec/Lévis, Quebec to Oakville, Ontario and/or Sarnia, Ontario; from Lévis or Montréal, Quebec to Oakville and/or Sarnia; from Sarnia to Oakville and/or Montréal; from Québec/Lévis to Montréal; and from Lévis to Québec. The activity will commence on July 3 and will end on August 2, 2015.

Is there a suitable Canadian ship available to perform the activity?

FACTS AND DETERMINATION

Canadian Transportation Agency (Agency) staff gave notice of the application to the Canadian marine industry and no Canadian ships were offered. Therefore, the Agency determines that there is no suitable Canadian ship available to perform the activity.

The Agency is providing this determination to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness to consider whether to issue the licence. This Decision is not an authority to operate.
