The non-scheduled international licence of Compania Nationala de Transporturi Aeriene Romane "TAROM" S.A. carrying on business as TAROM S.A. [Romanian Air Transport] (Licensee) has been suspended since February 15, 2005 at the request of the Licensee pursuant to Order No. 2005‑A‑82, Decision No. 107‑A‑2006, Decision No. 172‑A‑2007, Decision No. 201‑A‑2008 and Decision No. 225‑A‑2009.

In the most recent suspension Decision, the Canadian Transportation Agency (Agency) suspended the licence pursuant to paragraph 75(2)(b) of the Canada Transportation Act, S.C., 1996, c. 10, as amended (CTA) and provided the Licensee with one year to file an application to reinstate the licence. If within one year the application for reinstatement was not filed, or the Licensee did not meet any of the applicable requirements of the CTA, the Licensee was provided with an additional 30 days following the expiry of one year to show cause why the licence should not be cancelled.

In response to the Decision, the Licensee has requested that the licence remain suspended and not be cancelled.

Due to the lengthy time the licence has been suspended, the Agency orders that the licence remain suspended for a further 90 days during which time the Licensee is required to meet all the applicable requirements of the CTA or the licence will be cancelled without further notice.
