APPLICATION
Irving Oil Limited applied, through its Canadian representative, for a licence to use the "COHO", an American tug to work with the barge "PENN No. 92" to transport approximately 82,000 barrels of asphalt for one voyage, from Saint John, New Brunswick, to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and Holyrood and Botwood, Newfoundland and Labrador, commencing on September 7 and ending on September 30, 2010.

Is there a suitable Canadian ship available to perform the activity?
FACTS AND DETERMINATION
Canadian Transportation Agency (Agency) staff gave notice of the application to the Canadian marine industry and no Canadian ships were offered. Therefore, the Agency determines that there is no suitable Canadian ship available to perform the activity.
The Agency is providing this determination to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness to consider whether to issue the licence. This Decision is not an authority to operate.
