APPLICATION

Oceanex Inc. applied, through its representative, for a licence to use an unnamed roll-on roll-off / lift-on lift-off ship to transport cargo between Montréal, Quebec, and St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, and between Halifax, Nova Scotia, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador and Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, commencing on January 30 and ending on May 31, 2011.

FACTS AND DETERMINATION

Canadian Transportation Agency (Agency) staff gave notice of the application to the Canadian marine industry and no Canadian ships were offered. Therefore, the Agency determines that there is no suitable Canadian ship available to perform the activity.

The Agency is providing this determination to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness to consider whether to issue the licence. This Decision is not an authority to operate.
