APPLICATION by WestJet to amend Licence No. 090075.

WestJet applied to the Canadian Transportation Agency (Agency) to amend Licence No. 090075 by adding the authority to operate a scheduled international service, large aircraft, between Canada and the Cayman Islands.

The Minister of Transport has designated WestJet as eligible to hold a scheduled international licence for service between Canada and, among others, the following British overseas territories: the Turks and Caicos Islands; Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of Canada concerning Air Services initialled ad referendum on April 12, 2006 (Agreement).

Under its Licence, WestJet is currently authorized to operate a scheduled international service, large aircraft, between Canada and the Turks and Caicos Islands and between Canada and Bermuda.

The Agency has reviewed the application and is satisfied that the applicant meets the requirements of subsection 69(1) of the Canada Transportation Act, S.C., 1996, c. 10, as amended (CTA).

The Agency has considered this matter and deems it to be consistent with the Agreement to amend Condition No. 1 of the Licence, pursuant to subsection 71(1) of the CTA, as follows:

The Licensee is authorized to operate a scheduled international service, large aircraft, between Canada and the Turks and Caicos Islands, between Canada and Bermuda and between Canada and the Cayman Islands.

A new document of licence bearing Licence No. 090075 will be issued to WestJet.
