APPLICATION

Technip Canada Limited applied, through its Canadian representative, for a licence to use an unknown vessel for the loading and offloading of flowline reels for the expansion development of the Sea Rose floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO), located off the east coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, commencing on May 1, 2009 and ending on August 15, 2009.

Is there a suitable Canadian ship available to perform the activity?

FACTS AND DETERMINATION

Canadian Transportation Agency (Agency) staff gave notice of the application to the Canadian marine industry and no Canadian ships were offered. Therefore, the Agency determines that there is no suitable Canadian ship available to perform the activity.

The Agency is providing this determination to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness to consider whether to issue the licence. This Decision is not an authority to operate.
