Working at the Agency

Why choose the Agency?

Here are some of the reasons why you can have an engaging and meaningful career at the Agency:

We focus on our people. We work hard at recruiting, developing and retaining a highly competent work force.

We foster a cooperative, rewarding work environment that provides you with first-rate learning and career development opportunities because we recognize that people are our greatest asset.

We’re a small organization with big opportunities. We employ about 250 people with the right variety of skills to tackle complex transportation matters.

Our smaller size gives you the opportunity to work with subject-matter experts at all levels and in different areas – in a tight-knit, congenial environment.

We support innovation – in all areas of the organization. We were one of the first federal departments or agencies to offer publications in DAISY format (a digital talking book with enhanced accessibility features). We’re also developing new tools for industry, like a Sample Tariff that helps air carriers provide clear, simplified and understandable tariffs for passengers.

We make a difference in the lives of Canadians by ensuring that our national transportation system is accessible, competitive and fulfills the needs of Canadians and the Canadian economy.

Plus, as a federal public servant, you’ll play a key role in shaping and supporting Canada’s place in the world.
