JetBlue Airways Corporation penalized for violations of the APPR

September 23, 2026 – Gatineau, QC – The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) has issued an administrative monetary penalty of $80,000 against JetBlue Airways Corporation for violations of the Air Passenger Protection Regulations (APPR).

On or about April 30, 2025, JetBlue Airways Corporation committed 40 violations of subparagraphs 17(1)(a)(i), (ii), and (iii) of the APPR by failing to provide affected passengers, free of charge, with alternate travel arrangements consisting of a confirmed reservation following the cancellation of flights for reasons within the carrier's control.

JetBlue Airways Corporation has until October 22, 2026, to request a review before the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada.
