Notice of Oral Hearing
IN THE MATTER OF
The Canadian Transportation Agency's (CTA) inquiry into Air Transat tarmac delays for flights No. 157 from Brussels and No. 507 from Rome, on July 31, 2017.
Case No.: 17-03788
The CTA will hold an oral hearing in this inquiry to be held on Wednesday August 30 and Thursday August 31, 2017 at:
160 Elgin Street
11th Floor
Room 11A-50
Ottawa, ON
The hearing will commence on August 30 at 10:00 a.m.
The purpose of the oral hearing is to allow the CTA to hear evidence from witnesses regarding the Air Transat Flights 157 and 507 tarmac delays at the Ottawa MacDonald-Cartier International Airport on July 31, 2017. The CTA will be inviting individuals or organizations directly involved in, or affected by, the incidents to appear at the oral hearing to testify. A list of witnesses will be made available when confirmed.
The evidence gathered and summarized by the Inquiry Officer and the testimony heard at this hearing, along with final written submissions by the parties, will all be considered by the CTA in making its determination on the two outstanding issues before the CTA:
- Did Air Transat properly apply its Tariff during these incidents; and
- Are Air Transat's applicable Tariff provisions reasonable.
Attendance at the hearing
Members of the public may attend as observers of the hearing. The seating capacity is for 90 people only, and will be on a first-come first-served basis. No cameras or recording devices are permitted.
