Contravention
Note: Subject to a Compliance Agreement
(1) On or about March 15, 2023, Aéroports de Montréal failed to identify by tactile and Braille signage, the designated area for service dogs to relieve themselves located in the Public area of the terminal (Multi-Level parking lot, Arrivals level), thereby contravening paragraph 227(1)(a) of the Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulations.
(2) On or about March 15, 2023, Aéroports de Montréal failed to identify by tactile and Braille signage, the designated area for service dogs to relieve themselves located in the Domestic area of the terminal, thereby contravening paragraph 227(1)(a) of the Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulations.
(3) On or about March 15, 2023, Aéroports de Montréal failed to identify by tactile and Braille signage, the designated area for service dogs to relieve themselves located in the International area of the terminal, thereby contravening paragraph 227(1)(a) of the Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulations.
(4) On or about March 15, 2023, Aéroports de Montréal failed to identify by tactile and Braille signage, the designated area for service dogs to relieve themselves located in the Transborder area of the terminal, thereby contravening paragraph 227(1)(a) of the Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulations.
Compliance Agreement
After a request by the Aéroports de Montréal, the Agency has agreed to enter into a compliance agreement pursuant to subsection 180.62(1) of the Canada Transportation Act. The terms of the compliance agreement go beyond the Aéroports de Montréal’s regulatory obligations and the contraventions in the Notice of Violation to remove additional barriers for persons with disabilities and improve travelling conditions for passengers.

Notice of Compliance
The Aéroports de Montréal was served with a Notice of Compliance pursuant to 180.62(3) of the Canada Transportation Act as the Agency is satisfied that the Aéroports de Montréal has complied with the Agreement entered into. Consequently, no further proceedings under Part VI of the Canada Transportation Act shall be taken against the Aéroports de Montréal with respect to the contravention.
