BACKGROUND
By letter dated November 20, 1997, Air Canada filed a complaint with the Canadian Transportation Agency (hereinafter the Agency) respecting fare and rule revisions applicable to transportation between Canada and Korea filed by Northwest Airlines, Inc. (hereinafter Northwest) and Asiana Airlines Inc. (hereinafter Asiana) which resulted in an undercut of the fares of Air Canada.
Under cover of a letter dated November 21, 1997, the Agency provided a copy of the complaint to Northwest and Asiana. The carriers were required to provide their answer to the complaint within three working days from the date of the letter and Air Canada was advised that it would have one working day from the date of receipt of the answer to reply.
Northwest and Asiana have now amended the said fares and rules.
CONCLUSION
The Agency notes that Northwest and Asiana have amended the applicable fares and rules which were the basis of Air Canada's complaint.
Following its consideration of the matter, the Agency concludes that as a result of the corrective measures taken by Northwest and Asiana, no further action is required.
