Decision No. 356-A-2010
August 20, 2010
APPLICATION by Air Canada pursuant to section 77 of the Canada Transportation Act, S.C., 1996, c. 10, as amended.
File No. M4820/B7
Air Canada has applied to the Canadian Transportation Agency (Agency) for an approval to permit it to operate two (2) additional flights between Canada and Brazil on September 1 and 12, 2010.
Air Canada is licensed to operate a scheduled international service in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil on Air Transport (Agreement).
Under the terms of the Agreement, the capacity to be provided on the specified routes shall be approved by the aeronautical authorities of both Contracting Parties.
The Agency has considered the application and the material in support and finds that it is appropriate to grant this authority.
Accordingly, the Agency, pursuant to section 77 of the CTA and as provided for in the Agreement, authorizes Air Canada to operate two (2) additional flights between Canada and Brazil on September 1 and 12, 2010.
This authority does not constitute a change in capacity entitlements in the Agreement.
In all other respects, the service shall be operated in accordance with the Agreement.
This authority does not exempt Air Canada from the requirements of other legislative acts or regulations, including those of Transport Canada.
