APPLICATION by Imperial Oil Limited, pursuant to the Coasting Trade Act, S.C., 1992, c. 31, for a licence.
APPLICATION
Imperial Oil Limited applied, through its representative, for a licence to use the “ALPINE LOYALTY”, a Singaporean tanker, to transport approximately 120,000 barrels of mixed crude oil, in one voyage, from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Canaport, Saint John, New Brunswick and/or Portland, Maine, United States of America via pipeline to Montréal, Quebec and/or refineries in Quebec and/or refineries in Ontario, commencing on or about September 27 and ending on or about October 26, 2013.

Is there a suitable Canadian ship available to perform the activity?
FACTS AND DETERMINATION
Canadian Transportation Agency (Agency) staff gave notice of the application to the Canadian marine industry and no Canadian ships were offered. Therefore, the Agency determines that there is no suitable Canadian ship available to perform the activity.
The Agency is providing this determination to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness to consider whether to issue the licence. This Decision is not an authority to operate.
