IN THE MATTER OF Decision No. 560-AT-A-2004 dated October 22, 2004, Margaret Combdon vs Air Canada.

File No. U3570/00-62

In its Decision No. 560-AT-A-2004 dated October 22, 2004 (hereinafter the Decision), the Canadian Transportation Agency (hereinafter the Agency) made a determination with respect to an application filed by Margaret Combdon concerning the difficulties she encountered at the Toronto-Lester B. Pearson International Airport while travelling with Air Canada on August 5, 2000 and August 26, 2000.

The Agency found that leaving Mrs. Combdon unattended in the aircraft, the provision of a malfunctioning boarding chair to deplane, and the failure to have her personal wheelchair promptly made available to her at the aircraft door following deplaning constituted undue obstacles to Mrs. Combdon's mobility. As such, the Agency directed Air Canada to take corrective measures as set out in the Decision.

On December 2, 2004, Air Canada filed its response to the Decision.

CONCLUSION

The Agency has considered the measures taken in response to the Decision and is satisfied that Air Canada has met the requirements of the Decision. As such no further action is necessary in this matter.
