Re: Warning following alleged violations of the Personnel Training for the Assistance of Persons with Disabilities Regulations
Results of an inspection conducted by a designated enforcement officer of the Canadian Transportation Agency indicate that VIA Rail Canada Inc. is in contravention of sections 4 and 9 of the Personnel Training for the Assistance of Persons with Disabilities by failing to ensure, on the one hand, that Hertz Canada Ltd. employees who are working at the service counter located at the Vancouver station and may be required to interact with the public or to make decisions in respect of the carriage of persons with disabilities receive a level of training appropriate to the requirements of their function and, on the other hand, that call centre employees are regularly taking refresher courses appropriate to the requirements of their function.
